The Xbox Series X will arrive at Christmas 2020 along with Halo Infinite, a franchise that had not been in one of the Microsoft console releases since Halo: Combat Evolved, a title that accompanied the first Xbox.

At the end of 2019, the specialized video game site GameSpot, sister site of CNET en Español, published an exclusive interview with the Xbox Series X development team, where Phil Spencer, vice president of gaming and head of Xbox at Microsoft, said that the design of the new tower console reflects the core functions of its new console which is speed and performance.

Along with the console, comes the new wireless controller which is very similar to that of the Xbox One so that the muscle memory of the players remains intact. However, the control has small but very important changes focused on speed and compatibility. For example, the top buttons are round and the edges of the triggers were slightly reduced.

In the GameSpot interview, Spencer indicated that while the Xbox controller fits almost any hand size, the new design is slightly smaller, increasing its coverage from 95 percent to 98 percent.

Microsoft also integrated a new D-pad, inspired by the Elite controller, which is designed to adapt to more forms of gaming, the Share button was added to take screenshots and video recordings, and the new control is also compatible with the Xbox One, with PCs and Android and iOS devices.
